Sometimes, I feel like I'm the only one that doesn't miss the start menu at all..
Hey! It's not that you can't run things without it. But I have a tendency to group things (Audio/Documents/Games/Pictures/Videos).
As such, it is rather difficult to do what I do without a menu. Besides, if you have a clean pc, what is there to do?
But people like myself, having thousands of things to research & process, find it very handy to have.
More of a need, even...
but the new start screen is literally the same thing, haha.
Seriously, hit the WIN key, and begin typing what you want, it'll appear to you.
That's both the solution & the problem. I have so many programs at the moment, I can't possibly remember all of them.
Besides, if memory serves me correct, Windows start menu search finds a lot of things, but some things get skipped.
And if I do custom installs that I make with SFX compilers, it may or may not be found without manually changing a setting or two for including those directories.
For those reasons, I still like to have everything shown.
A start menu doesn't take up a lot of space... And it's less confusing, honestly.
Even though I can use keyboard shortcuts, it just looks... blankety blank with no start menu, lol
I might try it if I don't end up needing it (I use classic IE9 from that program to give me the status bar zone that Microsoft stupidly took out of 9)
