I need some help. I have begun to run into an issue with Firefox sync and ccleaner.
When I installed firefox sync i had to enter an initial registration code and password and it was set up. Then everytime I needed to use it I just click sync, pretty easy and efficient. However after I started exiting my browser and running ccleaner I have to re-set up firefox sync everytime, which almost defeats the purpose of having it as a time saver. Is the reason because firefox sync keeps your log-in in a cookie? I could use some help resolving this issue. Thank you!
I found this the other day on my autoclean, at exit from within firefox, of Firefox Portable, . It's Caused by either "site preferences" or "active logins" in the latest firefox, I'm not sure which of those (if at all) ccleaner is touching
Can you turn off all Firefox settings in CCleaner
sign in to sync
exit firefox
reopen firefox (just to make sure cleaning isn't happening internally)
if still setup
exit firefox
clean only one setting of firefox in ccleaner
check firefox
if still setup
exit firefox
uncheck that setting and clean the next setting of firefox in ccleaner
check firefox
repeat 8-11 until you've i) found the culprit and ii) checked all of the firefox settings
when you've done this please report what setting(s) cause this so we can work on it not occuring anymore
What's to update, Firefox sync is stored in one of those locations. I provided you the information needed to check this. You never replied, so ball is in your court.
Oops, I swear I check to see that they were the same poster DOH!
(Thanks Dennis)
So yeah, Follow my advice in the second reply and get back to us, please
Registered just to post to this, because I ran into the same problem. I only had a few things checked for Firefox. I unchecked "Saved passwords" since I don't use Firefox to save my passwords anyway. I closed Firefox and ran the cleaner and did not get the problem of Sync being FUBAR when I opened Firefox back up.
