I had accidentally deleted my many Bookmarks in Mozilla Firefox recently (including from the Recycle Bin). Someone suggested I use Recuva to try and recover them. When the (.json) file was found in Recuva, it had a green-excellent chance for recovery. But when I went to Firefox, and tried to Restore them, a Firefox dialog box came up saying "Unable to process the backup file".
Why would it do this, and how can I get the file to be restored? Thanks.
Firefox also keeps multiple backup copies of your bookmarks you should find them in your Firefox profile folder located in the bookmarkbackups folder.
WinXP Example:
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Windows User Profile Name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\Your Firefox Randomly Generated Profile Name.default\bookmarkbackups
Andavari, thanks for the reply, but I all ready checked there and isn't there (the one I am looking for with my many bookmarks). That is why I used Recuva and now am getting that message. Any ideas?
