Firefox 3 Final

I love firefox, but version 3 was a mess for me. no forward/back buttons, half the extensions didnt work, it seemed slower, and kept crashing. i uninstalled it and went back to the old firefox and no problems.....for a change i will be using opera a bit, but unfortunately it doesnt work on my 64 bit vista. :(

FF3 for me i most certainly didn't like at all. it was a bit slow, Add-ons didn't work, and the Theme was just ugly. i went back to FF2

I also found FF3 to be slower than 2 so I don't know where all this BS about a huge speed increase is coming from. FF2 is faster than FF3 and Opera 9.5 simply destroys both of them. I also hate the new bookmarks manager. It's just confusing and I don't like the new "awesome bar". The only thing awesome about it is how awesomely annoying it is. I am not surprised by this release. I knew it was coming by the way they butchered the addon site.

What do you mean no forward or back buttons? I have them.

I'm forced to write this in IE because pos Firefox crashed as soon as it loaded. I managed to keep it open, but it won't load any page, and trying will freeze it. Opening the bookmarks sidebar freezes and crashes it as well as trying to open the add-ons window. Safe mode does the same, except worse. Closing it closes the window but the process keeps eating more and more memory until it crashes numerous other running apps. This happens with v3, and v2. Killing firefox.exe has become routine. If it were not for the addons I would dump firefox permanentally as it really is a pile of crap and gets worse with every update.

The green arrows at the top of the screen...they were completely gone and nowhere to be found. super annoying.

^Were they in the customize window? Mine were

If you have the extension (add-on) "Toolbar Buttons" you will (I don't know how) have access to many different defunct extensions just by dragging the button(s) to any accepting toolbar. I think it's a leftover freak from the beta trials that somehow survived.

Mine were on the tool bar like they should be. Very weird that they were missing on other people's.

Nope they werent even in the customize window. Thats what bugged me the most so i just dumped it and went back to ff2......and on to opera 9.5. :)

Opera's browser market share should be going up now. Hopefully Mozilla fixes the FF3 issues, but they've lost me forever.

FF3 is banished to the land of wind and ghosts.

The FF addon site is just useless right now. I feel like I am on dial up with a 20 year old computer trying to use that site. It's ridiculous. Probably all the band wagon boys trying to download extensions all at once.

I'm using FF2.0.0.14 and I'm happy :P

Firefox 3 is working well for me. The improved memory usage is greatly welcomed.

I'm quite happy with FF3...however would happily go with Opera if it had something like Adblock Plus.

Opera with the HOSTS file can't be beat:

I manage them with HostsMan and its browser speed up proxy HostsServer:

Opera with the HOSTS file can't be beat:

Plus Opera does have a built in site & image excluder called Blocked Content. I've imported thousands of blocked sites directly into Opera after the MVPS.org HOSTS file just wasn't enough.

As my daughter would say Keewlness

Firefox 3, in my computer, just performs faster/better than Firefox 2. It starts faster, loads sites quicker, and consumes less memory in my observations.

I just wish that Opera had a granular control of ads and scripts like in Adblock Plus and NoScript, without sacrificing startup time. Then I would be a happy camper. :D
