what are the changes wgan? anything interesting?
I've not even installed FF2 yet!
i've heard that 3.0 passes the Acid2 test
what are the changes wgan? anything interesting?
maybe it's just me, but I really feel the loading speed (page+images) is faster, the compatibility is also good; but I don't see much benefits to install this version though, try it at your own risk anyway
ps. forget to mention, I've heard that there is a next-gen history and graphic rendering engine added to the ver 3.0
I'm testing it out now and I've noticed that it loads a lil faster. Most of my extension don't work though.
Here is a link .. right at Mozilla's site:
http://mozilla.osuosl.org/pub/mozilla.org/...a1/win32/en-US/
The file is there .. exe file
---
BUT.. How come it's NOT running on my computer though..
Never had the same problem before with other versions..
Even current v 2.0 is running OK...
With this Alpha 1 v 3.0 .. what is happening:
Upon it's install .. and then "Launch the program"
After the program is launched .. the box comes up.. something like this:
The name of the box is: "Error Starting Program"
Inside the box it says:
"The FIREFOX.EXE file is linked to missing export USER32.DLL:UpdateLayeredWindow."
----
It says exactly that.. - Any idea/suggestions on what to do or could be done?
Thanks
--
P.S. I just tried to start the program again..
And the same Box pops in..
But under it i noticed there is another error box:
" C:\Program Files\Gran Raradiso\firefox.exe
A device attached to the system is not functioning"
--
Hehe .. WTF.. what device are they talking about now?
Everything is functioning in other browsers or even other firefox versions..
==========
Just noticed something.. hehe:
Inside the Gran Paradiso directory.. there is a Readme file.. txt file..
I opened it and it says in it:
" For information about installing, running and configuring Firefox
including a list of known issues and troubleshooting information,
refer to: http://getfirefox.com/releases/ "
I tried going there.. but it just redirects me to Mozilla Firefox page
Hehe.. i found the problem
The problem is - I am running Windows ME on this computer here..
Found this page - Here: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/firefox/3.0a1/releasenotes/
Where among other things they are saying:
"Some of the changes in Gecko 1.9 Alpha 1 will affect the web and platform compatibility of Gran Paradiso Alpha 1:
Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows ME are no longer supported platforms..."
-----
I guess my Problem IS solved now - at least i found the answer
hehe
"Gran Paradiso Alpha 1 is being made available for testing purposes only, and is intended for web application developers and our testing community. Current users of Mozilla Firefox should not use Gran Paradiso Alpha 1."
