File recovery problem

Hey, about 20 hours ago i recieved 5 pictures which were very important to me. Then about 10 hours ago i deleted it by an acident while holding shift+delete. It was deleted with a bunch of other files. When i run the Recuva scan all the bunch of videos and pictures i deleted come up except the 5 pictures i recieved recently. Any ideas why is so?

Thanks for you time

Paul

Where did you get the 5 images, was this via email or a download??

Which folder did you save the images??

Richard S.

Well its kind of complicated it was trough a game a person took those pictures trough my computer and they saved in

computer>COMPAQ(C:)>Program Files (x86)>Steam>steamapps>totis9999>counter-strike>cstrike

But im sure they were there because i was watching them.

It is really important to me.

NTFS reuses entries in the MFT, as far as I know in lowest available number first. So recently created files (your pics) will have been allocated low MFT records. Unfortunately when they were deleted the records became available again and are most likely to be used by other activity quite quickly.

There is a small chance that the clusters the pics occupied haven't been overwritten yet, or there are some other copies of the pics created when they were downloaded or edited etc. You could try a deep scan but this will take some time. However ten hours work on your pc does make the chances quite small.

Ok I will try the deep scan Thanks for anwsering my question and you time. :)
