File Finder Usage

When I use the File Finder tool it displays a large list of duplicate files. How do I know which files (if any) I can safely delete? Some files, eg iTunes, are in a library folder but also in a shared area. Some drivers are in "Drivers" and also in "Program Files" folders. I am reluctant to delete any of them until I understand why they are duplicated.

Congratulations on two levels.

1) you have stopped and asked the question before blindly deleting files

2) you have discovered the basic flaw with File Finder

The duplicate file finder has one fundamental rule: Use At Own Risk

The onis is completely on the user to determine which of the discovered files should/can be removed.

Thanks.

It only took you 4 years to reply Colonel_Stack, that must be a record !!
