I'm just wondering Mr.Brownstone, but are you using a Dual Boot system with Ubuntu?

I'm just wondering Mr.Brownstone, but are you using a Dual Boot system with Ubuntu?

I used to..after a reformat I am running Ubuntu in Virtualbox:-)

Well I finally decided to turn my "test" Windows 7 PC off and install Win7 as my "Normal" every day PC (I considered 6 months trial long enough)......so this is my first Win7 (every day working PC) desktop, not really startling......but it took me long enough to build the $$^#$#$#@^ thing.

I must admit that I did keep the seperate XP 500GB Sata II HD sitting in the wings just incase the ship hits the fan, (with the necessary Macrium Reflect backup's of course).

PS: I think we here in Aus, Queensland in particular, have had enough of the "strange/unusual weather"......bloody floods, cyclones.....what's next????? Floods in Victoria & New South Wales and fires in Western Australia. We here in Tasmania only suffered flooding in 3 East Coast towns with about $100 million dollars of road damage.....sorry to waffle on folks.

Second one from me, and back to blue:

Nice to see a few more entries this month, and all good. Keep 'em coming.

Here's a one from me.

Feels so light and airy under the umbrella :)

mr.brownstone you seem to always have GNR playing in your screenshots, and the desktops are always awesome!

Also TeeJay3800, that wallpaper is cool.

I'd swap that for what's outside at the moment. No snow, just cold wet and windy.

And, nice one mr.b.

Kerem Beyit is one hell of an amazing artist. That's all I can say, I've got quite a few backgrounds from him.

Ok, my desks as of now.

Too little time to list up details, just ask if it is something you wanna know:-)

Nice desktops as usual Mr.Brownstone. I'm wondering, how do you install new visual styles in Windows 7? It was very easy in Windows XP, but it seems much more complicated in Windows 7, with a lot more system file replacing to do. More specifically, how do you install the Blend 2.0 theme? The instructions on the DeviantART page of the theme don't help much.

Thanx:)

Patching the files is pretty easy, just run uxtheme patcher (http://deepxw.blogspot.com/2008/11/universal-theme-patcher.html) and patch the 3 files and reboot.

Just make sure you run the correct exe for your system, 32 or 64 bit.

Then you place the themefile and the blend folder in the themes folder inside the recource folder in windows folder..just like you did in xp.

To change startorb just run this little awesome tool (http://www.door2windows.com/windows-7-start-button-changer-change-your-windows-7-start-button-with-one-click/)
