February 2017 Security Updates delay.

I'm sure everyone is eagerly waiting for them today

Well you'll have to wait a bit longer

Our top priority is to provide the best possible experience for customers in maintaining and protecting their systems. This month, we discovered a last minute issue that could impact some customers and was not resolved in time for our planned updates today.

After considering all options, we made the decision to delay this month’s updates. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this change to the existing plan.

- I indeed was wondering what happened to the Update mechanism. I feared MS wanted to give priority to Win 10 systems.

- This month Windows Update recommended only one "optional" update for my Win 7 system.

An update on the missing Feb updates.

you have recycled the same link from your first post @hazelnut. :)

Look at the top of that page. where it says they will be released in March.

They added that bit yesterday.

Oh bugger it.

no more mushrooms for me then.... :P

you know, I had both your links in separate tabs and flicked between them and only saw the Facebook icon was different.

I will have to be called Hawkeye - nothing gets past me !!!

- Now MS even pulled that one "optional" update. So, the updates for February 2017 will be skipped. Is MS afraid to tell the (painfull) truth ?

Well I would rather they pulled the updates if they found an issue with them, than just put them out.

*Like* (When the "Like This" button doesn't work) ;)

I keep hoping MS is going to back pedal on the auto updates on windows 10. I cant stand the fact that it auto updates drivers. Seriously the worst idea they have ever had. Why update drivers on machines that are working fine, especially laptops that have notoriously finicky hardware once you start updating their drivers.

have you tried Control Panel, System, Advanced system settings, Hardware tab, Device Installation Settings button, and selecting No.

it does say, will 'stop manufacturers updates', not sure if MS will still sneak in their drivers though. :)

I wonder if they pulled this update because AM4 and Ryzen is coming out in March?

It looks like they also pulled back Redstone 2, which was suppose to be released today, apparently. http://news.softpedia.com/news/microsoft-not-releasing-a-windows-10-redstone-2-build-on-monday-513090.shtml

Well, well, well....

Surprise! Microsoft issues Flash patches for Internet Explorer, Edge

http://www.infoworld.com/article/3172391/microsoft-windows/surprise-microsoft-issues-flash-patches-for-internet-explorer-edge.html

But still no other security updates.

- When I look at the "Optional" updates then it suggests that people with a Win 7 system will only have 1 update in the next "Windows Update tuesday" and that update is offered twice. Odd, very odd.
