Feature Suggestion: Cleanup nstemp files from Thunderbird

Hi,

could you implement the feature to remove the nstemp files from Mozilla Thunderbird? If I get it right, these are temporary files Thunderbird creates when compressing the mailbox files. Problem is the bigger the mailbox files get, the longer it takes. For me it usually doesn't work (takes hours). That way numerous nstemp (and nstempX, X being a number) files are being created in the Thunderbird Profile and the size of the folders drastically increases, as Thunderbird basically copies the whole mailbox file to compress it, but leaves them afterwards. Suddenly you end up with a 20 GB Profile instead of 1 GB.

Agree..

Please add the feature to remove the nstmp files from the Thunderbird profile folder. I just found that I had 10GB of these nstmp, nstmp-1, nstmp-2, etc. after running CCleaner to try to free up space on my hard drive.

This is a link to the show that these files are only temporary and can be deleted without recourse to Thunderbird.

Thanks

I don't see any of those files in my TB profile. I compact all my folders daily with an extension Called Xpunge. Deletes the trash can and compacts all folders with one click. My TB profile is 7 MB and I have 11 extensions and 5 themes.
