I have just tried to scan my C drive (Western Digital 160GB) but it failed with the error message:
Failed to reserve memory.
This is the error log:
Recuva v069
===========
System Info: MS Windows 2000 SP4, Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.40GHz, 1.0GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200
[20:7:40] ErrorNo: 8 OtherInfo: Error No:536870920 ErrorInfo:Failed to reserve memory.
I also tried scanning drive D (Western Digital 120GB) which seems to work correctly.
Regards,
Dave.
I tryed to scan both of my seagates - ST3120022A & ST3120023A and get the same error, however it works fine on my 6 usb drives, and 2 digital cameras.
Try running a chkdsk on each of the drives/partitions.
eg: if 22A is C: and 23A is E:
*Click Start, Run
*Type:
cmd
*Press enter
*type:
chkdsk C: /F /V /R /X
*Press enter
*Press y to accept check on reboot
*Restart your PC
*Note down any errors chkdsk fixes
*Test out recuva
Repeat again for each of your partitions/drives changing C: to the letter of you other drives,
Some may scan fine without requesting a restart.
Post here with some detail if it fixed the problem, or if it didn't.
It fixed a different problem for me earlier
