Erroneous pop-up warning/prompt to "Update CCleaner" with latest version already operating

Is there an entity impersonating CCleaner via pop-up notices that warn me (erroneously) that I MUST update CCleaner or risk losing features and functionality when in actuality, each time I open my version of CCleaner and click on “Check for Updates”, I instantly see a window that informs me, “Congratulations, you are using the very latest version of CCleaner!” If so, how can I rid my system of this nuisance? If it is indeed an error on the part of the CCleaner system, how can that be fixed to avoid this?

Does the pop-up say “update” or “upgrade”?

Are you running CCleaner Free or is it Professional?

It does sound like one of the genuine but annoying marketing pop-ups that CCleaner can generate.

If you are getting a lot of them, ie. every day or even multiple times daily, then check if you are blocking CCleaner or Avast in your AV or Firewalls.
(Particularly the Avast Content Delivery Network ‘avcdn.net’).

The advertising sets flags at the server to say that you have been shown it; but if you have blocked the sending of those flags they can’t be set, and so you then get shown it again and again…
