[ERR] Error concerning Win7 Security Center - Antivirus

Hello!

I would like to point out a possible error I found.

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium and have Microsoft Security Essentials installed and enabled.

Security Essentials work as an antivirus.

Windows Defender, as far as I know, doesn't even exist anymore (at least it's not supported).

But what I got from Speccy is:

Operating System
MS Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit
Installation Date: 09 November 2010, 19:40
Serial Number: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
	Windows Security Center
		Firewall	Enabled
		Antivirus	Disabled
	Windows Defender
		Windows Defender	Disabled

...which I believe is not true...

Hope this helps.

Windows Defender, as far as I know, doesn't even exist anymore (at least it's not supported).

Windows Defender is still supported for us who do not have MSSE installed and prefer to use other AVs. :)

oops! :)

anyway, this doesn't change the actual Speccy prob... It should say Antivirus - Enabled.

When you install Microsoft Security Essentials it automatically disables Windows Defender.

If you open your windows 7 control panel, Windows Defender will be listed there but if you open it it will say it is disabled.

To get back on topic.

I too can confirm as a Windows 7 user (32bit), that Speccy (using v1.07.205) does NOT report antivirus status properly.

I have both Avast 5 (free home edition) and Ad-Aware Pro 9 and Speccy still reports antivirus as being disabled. Where-as Windows Security Center sees them just fine and reports antivirus as enabled.

I too confirm

Please check you have no left over folders from the ad-aware uninstall.

I realize you asked for no "me toos", but I would like to know if a solution was found for this problem? I am still having it

as of today. I have uptodate MSE installed.

Windows Security Center

User Account Control (UAC) Disabled

Firewall Enabled

Antivirus Disabled

LOL I shoulda been better worded ;)

Please if you are posting +1/Me Too's Also post a link to your speccy publish.

As I also have the issue, and as I am aware the Developers are still looking into this:
