Duplicate files

When running cc7 and looking at exact duplicate files do I want to eliminate the one with the blue star or is that the one I keep?

They’re duplicates so, assuming you’re only deleting document files (documents, music, video, pictures) and not choosing any system files, it can be either.

That said I don’t use that tool except in small batches and never bulk clean when system or program files are found. Many applications (and especially Windows) require duplicates as backups or for their use and deleting those files can break things.

I have also moved this thread from Driver Updates board to the windows help board for more visibility and chances at a satisfying answer.

The Duplicate files facility does not work properly even after selecting small quantiteis of files. The research of duplicates seems to run adequately (albeit slowly) but after selecting either to move the selection to corb or to eliminate it, the programm runs slowly and finally there prompt a message “an error has occured , sorry we could not terminate the operation”. What’ could be the trouble ? Thanks for your help.

Please start your own thread as this one is (slightly) different

I have transferred the report in another discussion, already open, in CCleaner for Windows Bug reporting: “Duplicate Finder will not delete Files”.
