dozens of files modified on the date I last Ran CCleaner

I noticed late last night that I had dozens of files modified on the date and time I last Ran CCleaner (10/6/08 9:05am). These files are a mixture of MS Word/Excel, Adobe Acrobat, JPEG images, MDI files, etc... making them impossible to open for view.

Zb Thumbnail.info (INFO File) and Thumbs (Data Base File) were mysteriously created in several folders where the files were modified.

Thankfully it didn't get to any of our family pictures has my last back-up was months ago when our girls were 3 and 6 months old.

I use AVAST On-Access Protection and Antivirus which found the following viruses since 10/6/08 9:05am: A0087013.exe (Win32:Adware-gen), RogersUpdater.exe (Win32:Trojan-gen) and A0107624.exe(Win32:Trojan-gen).

Any help, advice or sharp humourus ridicule would be greatly appreciated.

Hi big alphonse, and welcome to the forum.

It doesn't sound like something CCleaner could do, but the best thing you can do is make sure all your important files are backed up, as you could still have an infection which hasn't been removed.
