Does CCleaner (free version) remove history from Opera.

Running the free version of ccleaner and using opera. CCleaner will show that files were deleted from opera. However, when you open opera, the internet history is still there.

Upgraded to trial pro version.

Even though free ccleaner and proccleaner show that files were deleted from opera; only with the pro version is the internet history removed from opera.

Using win 10, 64bit.

very interesting, as supposedly there should be no differences at the cleaning level between the two versions.

so I'm wondering what else could explain it, like a system reboot, or the fact you reinstalled CC.

I guess the test would be if you reverse the process; uninstall the trail Pro, reboot PC and re-install the free version.

Will do, but this has been a months long issue with the free version.

ok...so two systems, win 7 win 10, both 64 bit. Since installing ccleaner on both systems, the history of opera would get deleted. However, since updating ccleaner, Opera history is removed.

This suggests it's always removed. Is this a typo?

Can you clarify for each edition (Free or Pro):

  • Which version you are using (e.g. 5.39)
  • The operating system on the device
  • If cleaning Opera works when the History rule is checked
