I just got home and all the desktop icons were gone. The text was still there but it appeared to be randomly flashing. I could click on the text for applications and they'd open fine. Also when I clicked "start" all of those icons were gone too. Clicked "Start" and then "turn off computer" so I could reboot and it wouldn't do anything. Did Ctrl-Alt-Delete and in the task manager it showed the CPU usage at 72%. Doing Ctrl-Alt-Delete twice didn't restart the computer either. Had to restart if through the task manager and all seems fine now. Any idea what might have happened? Just some anomaly? The only thing changed recently was that Firefox had an update to 2.0.0.9 Thanks.
I could have literally been anything, such as an application crash, etc.
Nothing was running at the time and ctrl-alt-delete showed no running processes, but the CPU sure was busy for nothing to be running. I bet it was just some fluke of a glitch that won't happen again. Thanks Andavari.
