Add a choice on the "issues" cleaner to also delete start-menu or programs-menu folders that are empty? The invalid shortcuts are cleaned up, but if the menu folder is empty, it is not removed.

I completely agree... CCleaner has made many leaps and bounds, but this is something that I know annoys me, and others.
Maybe it has been overlooked?

I third that, empty folder deletion would be a useful addition.
In the meantime you could try toniarts freeware easy cleaner

do NOT go to toniarts.com as it is being run buy a fake, who asks for payment to download the freeware software.
