Running Windows 10 on an Intel i5 running at 2.5GHz, with 8GB RAM.
Hard drive disc capacity 919GB. Used space 621GB. Free space 298GB.
Analysing my hard drive showed 63% fragmentation (!) .
I ran Defraggler to reduce fragmentation.
On completion the number of fragmented files and number of fragments had decreased,
however the percentage fragmentation remained just as high.
CCleaner's Disk Analyzer shows that the largest individual files I have stored are C:\System Volume Information or C:\Windows\LiveKernelReports files. They descend in size from 57,179,944KB.
73 fragmented files (394.1GB), 1893 Total fragments, 63 % Fragmentaton.
What can I do to get Defraggler to make a more significant impact on fragmentation of my disc,
or what else might I do to solve this problem?
I would be greatly obliged if anyone can give any suggestions. Working with the computer is tending to feel like wading through treacle.
