It's a good idea. However, CCleaner is built on cleaning your system. Removing junk that doesn't belong there or is left behind. There are many great defraging programs out there that do a wonderful job. If you start to add too many features and options to a program it changes it's dynamics and it's not the same old program anymore. It looses it's ZEST. Here is an example. Years ago ICQ used to be a great chat program. It was small and fast and only did chat. Today, it's nothing but BLOATWARE! Too many features and options, now it's meaningless. Hardly anyone uses it anymore. It would be a shame to see CCleaner go to the way of BLOATWARE!

ok i get what your saying i thought it would be a good idea but after hearibg that it wouldnt be that good after words thx for the help

I'm not sure I'd call it a useless/bloating feature as it could use the defrag that's already built into Windows, also there are new people to the Windows OS each and everyday and it has to be realized that some may not know to defrag their hard disks regularly, or even more importantly to run a disk error scan.

Although I would personally never use such integrated features if CCleaner was to adopt them an "Optimize Performance" button may interest some people if it would:

1. Cleanse the system of junk files.

2. Reboot causing chkdsk to run using chkdsk /f on all hard disks.

3. Halt the loading of the desktop whilst defragmentation on all hard drives is done.

Basically the above sounds like a batch file I used to use on my Win98 system!
