Defrag freespace and Defrag freespace (allow fragmentation)

Hi,

My HDD has been defragged in the normal way and then I defragged the file list. After do this my system ran much faster in all respects, I then defragged the freespace and then noticed my system was not running as fast, files would take more time to load up. So I am now defraggling free space (allowing fragmentation) in hope things will run much faster again.

I have read the help files on this but don't really understand what the difference is?

Which is better with or without fragmentation?

Thanks

These settings are bugged. Both of them will create some random fragmentation. This is a long standing bug I don't know why it isn't fixed.

Ok thanks, so best not use them just stick with normal defrag and boot defrag then until bug is fixed.

Well, you can always do a fast free space defragmentation and manually defragment remaining fragmented files from filelist. On the other hand, the freespace defragmentation in DF isn't very thorough but it's fast.
