Deep scan and marked bad sectors

Quick question - does deep scan check all partitions of the hard drive - including those marked as bad by windows?? My lost files were last seen in a corrupted folder that couldn't be accessed and the whole lot was promptly disappeared by windows using the 'scan and fix your hard drive' message.

Thanks,

Nick

I shouldn't think so. How would it access a sector that couldn't be accessed?

Well it's fairly trivial to reallocate drive space if you know how. In addition I don't know yet if the folder was inaccessible due to a physical problem - in which case you may be correct, or a logical problem - in which case the files are potentially recoverable. If your correct that it doesn't check all partitions then I would need to perform a quick format first or more preferably - reallocate the part of the drive windows has marked as a bad boy before performing the scan? Any helpful suggestions from anyone?

Thanks,

Nick
