How does one get back Folders and files once you have used the Cut Command instead of delete, I use MS command Cut to delete and move Folders and Files from one HDD to another HDD, Now the HDD that I moved to has crashed . I need to go back to the original HDD and get back those folders and files but I need the folders intact so I know what file belongs to what programs, any suggestions... Help please.... I lost a years work of Music Files, from Fruity Loops and also plug-ins that took time to create.
When you say the hard drive that you moved them to has crashed, does it boot at all?
XP or vista?
Can you get someone to burn you a live cd and use that perhaps to boot your crashed drive and get your files back that way and put onto a memory stick/usb thumb drive?
HDD - that Crashed is dead - heads are clicking and drive will not mount....
Running XP pro sp3
Drive that may have info - I used the Cut and Paste command and then left that drive alone... so I think drive should
have the files and folders... but problem is the undelete software brings back files but does not tell you which file belongs
to which program, ie.... data files, and DLL files and just files that the program needs or created ... keep in mined that
each wav file is a track of music with in the Music Programs - ie.. fruit Loops, Cakewalk, ProTools and then they all have
plug-in files which is part of the programs but users created and I don't know thoses ext.
understand alittle more of my problem... I need those folders back with the files in place......
