Normally Custom Clean asks if I want to close Windows Explorer. I have always answered “Yes”, and cleaning proceeded normally. Just once I answered “No”, and foolishly said “Don’t ask me again”. Now it no longer cleans Windows Explorer. I can’t find any way in Settings to turn this back on. How do I get this back?
You can use the option in the advanced settings, be aware that will reset all settings so make a note of all other settings that you have changed so you can put it all back again. (and any Includes/excludes and ‘cookies to keep’ just in case).
Alternatively uninstalling and reinstalling CCleaner would also reset everything.
Make a note of your licence key before uninstalling, you will need to re-register/activate the new install.
You can get an installer here: Download CCleaner builds | CCleaner Portable, Slim, and more
That doesn’t work - if I restore default state, then select Other Explorer MRUs, it still won’t close Windows Explorer, so will skip them and One Drive.
I was hoping to avoid that! That’s the nuclear option. Why can’t I just have an option to “restore warning messages”? Most other software has that. (Seems odd to have “Hide warning messages” but not the converse.)
It a thing from the old days that has never been changed/updated.
