Could anyone tell me why when I used my CrapCleaner it did something to my internet connection. I can now only log onto internet explorer and run with add-ons disabled.
Did you clean files ?
Did you alter any check marks ?
Did you clean the registry ?
Did you make a registry backup ?
Did you use Tools to uninstall something or to delete/disable a startup item ?
Have you tried to use System Restore ?
Alan
Try:
- within internet explorer to go to tools>delete browsing history>
- uncheck everything including save favorite site data except internet cache
- press delete button
- try to go to a website
if this doesn't work
Try reboot of machine
also please answer alan's questions. If you did registry cleaning you may have removed a needed entry, it's best to only clean certain points not to clean every reg entry given. (it sounds like you may have deleted a Activex Entry perhaps for your antimalware program)
Try:
- disable all addons
- check to see if you can get on internet
- if yes, enable one addon
- check to see if you can get on internet
- if yes, enable one more addon
- Repeat 4-5 until you find the offending addon
- diasble that addon
- Repeat 4-5 and 7 until you find all offending addons
- reinstall those addons found in 6 & 8 as needed
- report back here

Hi Alan
Don't know if it cleaned the files.
Did not alter any check marks.
Don't know re registry.
Unfortunately dumb dumb here did not make a registry back up.
Did not use tools to delete or disable anything.
System Restore refuses to restore.
Taking computer to the Tech. tomorrow so they can sort it as I really think it is past my capabilities now. The Crap Cleaner was from my computer that broke down and had Vista running on it so I somehow suspect this could be part of the problem. I found Crap Cleaner to be good on my old computer that sort of died hence I have another which the insurance co. would only pay to have XP loaded on it. Long story. Many thanks for your help which I appreciate very much. Will let you know what happens with the Technician.

Hi & Good Evening New Zealand time 10.51pm)
I am takeing computer into Technician tomorrow as I fear that if I play anymore with it, I will make things worse. I think my problem started when changeing computers and installing all the programmes on to this one. The old one ran Vista and as above I am now running with XP as this is all the insurance company would pay for. Will let you know what Technician has to say tomorrow. It is probably something minor but I will leave it to the expert. I have run thru your suggestions but I feel I had better leave it to the Technician in case I make things worse. I can understand what you are saying but still a bit fearful to go touching anything. Thank you for your valuable time.
