Cookies list

You asked

So....

Any new info on this?

Just to clarify, in version 2.34, cookies in the 'to be deleted' column remain after a scan and clean. In version 2.33 they are gone after a scan and clean.

I use Opera 10.6 and in Opera, you can decide which cookies to keep and they stay in the 'to be deleted column' in ccleaner which is like it always has been.

Version 2.34 of ccleaner is different.

Just wondering...

It was answered two replies up on how piriform would be able to fix this

Hi Pirat

I am inclined to say that your index.dat file and cookie cache are not synchronized.

Would you be able to PM me your index.dat file located in the your "F:\Temp_D_\David\Cookies\"?

Can you also PM me the index.dat file located under this folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\DOMStore

Once we look into them we will be able to suggest you a solution.

Thanks

Yes, I know it was answered, but no solution yet.

Thank you.

Yes, I know it was answered, but no solution yet.

Thank you.

Just wondering...

Did you PM the information to MrT that he requested?

I was having the same problem with my Opera cookies list. CCleaner ran and it reported them cleaned, but they were still there in the list.

After I ran CCleaner with Opera closed, it seems to have worked. This list is clean and all that remains are those I've wanted to retain.

Try that and see if it works for you.

If that is the problem, maybe a later version of CCleaner could detect open browswers or at least say somewhere to have all browsers closed when it is being run. Or if it does say that somewhere, make it more explicit.

Yes, I know it was answered, but no solution yet.

Thank you.

Thanks, maybe I'll try that. I'm using version 2.33 now and it works perfectly, version 2.34 does not.

No information was requested from me specifically, that was another poster.

If this is a problem, I'd like to know an official solution or if a fix is in the works in the next version.

I run two computers and both have the same issue.

xp home sp3

jwall as the poster who was asked for info has not replied and you are having the same issue, are you able to supply the info requested by MrT so as to help with troubleshooting?

If you agree, but have questions about how to do it, just ask :)

Hi jwall,

You said that you have deleted history and cookies using IE Options.

Can you please let us know which browser has created the cookies you can't delete by following what is posted here:

http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=29048&view=findpost&p=173986

Thanks

I use Opera as the default browser and I do keep some cookies.

The cookies that wouldn't delete were both IE and Opera cookies. The Opera cookies were not ones I elected to keep.

The cookies I elect to keep in Opera always show up in the 'cookies to delete' column and never go away when I clean, which is normal, it's always been that way. It's the cookies OTHER than the one I want to keep that I accumulate while surfing with Opera that won't go away.

And, it's also the cookies I get with IE.

As I said, version 2.33 works fine and I only had the problem when I updated to version 2.34.

I'm back to version 2.33 and will keep using that for now.

Thanks.
