computer so sluggish after running ccleaner!

This just wears me out, being an older person and self taught computer user, I am literally lost when it comes to issues like this and what I can do to fix this.

I have an older computer I was so happy with, which came with vista, and LOVED it.

Well started having issues so took to my computer guy who is well trusted and knows his way around well.

He convinced me to install windows 10 and I have not been happy since.

Every few months or so it starts slowing down so I know to use cloud cleaner or ccleaner now and then.

Ran ccleaner yesterday and noticed immediately after that it screwed things up, delayed everything basically.

I am running out of patience here, can anyone please walk me through this??

Thanks!

G'day catwoman and welcome.

first up, you'll need to give as much info as possible, let's start with computer specs.

to aid in this, Speccy, also by Piriform, may be helpful.

in Speccy, click File > Publish Screenshot > Copy to Clipboard > Close.

copy that link into your post and we'll go from there.

Okay I did all that and now can't find it to attach!

Had to copy/paste it lol

to insert a link into a post, click the chain icon right above where you start typing.

it's the 9th one from the left on the second row.

hover you mouse over it and it'll pop up Link.

paste your Speccy link into the field labelled URL.

but right of the bat, you weren't kidding when you said the PC was old. :)

but your SSD should be helping a lot in keeping the speed up - until now that is!

if your were running Vista on that old clunker, then Windows 10 should still be running just fine.

so let's see what has happened, and hopefully that Speccy report can shed some light.

so apart from CCleaner, any other recent changes; hardware, software, Windows Updates, darn kids playing with your PC, that sort of thing?
