community rated programs.

when viewing installed programs, the user can view and rate the program & comment.

with this feature, It will be very easy to find malware and viruses.

as long as the reviewer is knowledgeable and trustworthy and the rating gets multiple, independent reviews.

would be very prone to misuse however.

plus there are already programs in that space specifically designed to detect malware and viruses.

Sounds alright for a download manager and one such program has that feature along with comments to sort of be a warning before installing a program, and an anti-malware program has that feature to rate programs in a list. But for it to be in CCleaner and if it were malware, well then it's already too late since it would be on the system.

We are considering something conceptually similar for a more guided uninstaller, but more around PUP and OEM pre-install bloatware.

Different approach and different philosophical underpinnings, but with a similar outcome for the user.
