Chrome Force Close

Greetings CCleaner Fans,

First I would like to praise Piriform and the developers of this product. It was recommended (in fact, mandatory!) for CCleaner to be installed on our computers at my old job as a means by which to maintain browser security after logging out of secure web sites. I've seldom had any problems with the product, free or Pro, in easily six or seven years' use (whenever the first versions came out!). Thanks.

Now to my problem: I've been running CCleaner on my home and work computers and over the past month or so (maybe longer, I'm embarrassed to say I'm not sure) I've had the application ask to close Chrome in order to analyse it, then request to force close it after a few seconds. It's consistent on both home and work computers running the most up-to-date CCleaner and Chrome versions.

I've attached screen shots taken today.

I should note also that if I don't actually Open CCleaner, and instead run it from the recycle bin (Run CCleaner), I never see the warning, BUT, it also does not clean Chrome. SO, if I want to clean Chrome, I have to Open the app, then I get the request to close Chrome and then force close.

Interesting, too, when I go to reopen Chrome it will sometimes give me a message similar to "Chrome did not close properly would you like to restore and recover settings?"

BTW I have read through these forums (fora?) and saw the sticky on the Chrome settings - yes I'm logged in, and yes I have the run background app in Chrome settings unchecked. So I know that is not the issue here.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

PQT
