CHM files

I recently downloaded an application called CCleaner which was a zip file. After extracting the file it had an extention .chm which is a help file. My computer would not open this file. Does anyone know of software that tranlate this file? Kindly help if you can. Thanks

Can I ask where you downloaded the file from chaltun?

There is usually no problems with opening the downloads so perhaps you might like to try from one of these locations.

Did you try to download this perhaps?

"Compiled HTML Help File". Default opens with "C:\WINDOWS\hh.exe" %1

I probably was not clear in my original note. I downloaded the program with no problems. It's the problem concerning the guide, which was zip, which was decoded, which left me the help chm file. Your first two areas to explore were the ones I used to download the program. The third area is the guide in question which wont work for me. I guess I'll try your 4th area...microsft.

Many Thanks

If the program opens but you get a "action cancelled" or "this message cannot be displayed" message, try here:

The problem is also related to Hazelnuts MS link.

If nothing opens you can try restoring the file assciations here. I have not tested these!
