How do I get my CF Card that is corrupted fixed?
I need to recover video files but I can't get the computer to see the card (Canon Camera wants to reformat card - which would lose the files)
Recuva wants to reformat the CF Card too
you may have to do a quick format in order to proceed.
a quick format doesn't destroy the data areas, only the MBR sector but it sounds like the card is already corrupted so who knows what state your data will be in.
How do I do a Quick Format so the data is not lost?
In Windows Explorer, or File Explorer (depending on your OS) right click your CF card and select Format... making sure the Quick Format box is ticked.
depending on the card's corruption, if it doesn't show up in File Explorer, go to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Disk Management, and see if it shows up there.
how many files were on the card?
pics or vids?
card capacity?
age?
format type; FAT or NTFS?
