ccleaner wont launch on yosemite

I am running Yosemite 10.10.5 on a macbook pro

I have downloaded the latest version of the software direct from the website.

"Requires an Apple Mac running 64-bit macOS 10.6 to 10.12 Sierra."

It installs fine, but when I try to launch it the icon just bounces and then stops responding listed in the 'force quite' menu as clearly my operating system is not Sierra.

I have tried downloading an older version just to see, but it just does the same, so 1.14.451 and osx 10.5 1.7.236

I have tried repairing permission etc just incase.

I used to have it a few years ago and it worked fine.

Thanks for any replies.

i've pointed the devs to this, sadly there aren't many (read: none :( ) Mac users on the forum.

Hi.

Yes I had tried that one, but I downloaded it anyway and gave it another try.

It gets to the verifying stage and then just bounces and stops responding.
