I used CCleaner and tried out the Wipe Free Space on my Windows laptop. At 80% my laptop froze so I had to restart my laptop. When it started up a screen appeared saying, "No bootable device found". This is because the Wipe Free Space wasn't finish and it basically wiped everything off of my hard drive so I no longer have an Operating System which was Windows.
I know that CCleaner creates a file when you start Wipe Free Space. If I can somehow access that file and delete it maybe I will get all my files back.
But I don't know how I can do it.
So far I have tried using Ubuntu and Linux to try to access my partition to delete the CCleaner file. But I can't seem to access the partition.
When programs that Wipe Free Space freeze or crash a computer, or are forcibly exited they can cause some damage, sometimes it causes the hard disk to be deemed in the RAW format.
If your version of Windows has the ability to use Windows Recovery Console it may be able to rescue your system. For example I know in Windows XP with the Windows Recovery Console installed the sort of damage that deems a hard disk in the RAW format can usually be easily and quickly fixed.
This search may interest you, that is if your hard disk is in the RAW format (which you'd need to determine from what the boot screen states, or what a possible 3rd party bootable disk utility may state):
