CCleaner WELCOME window size too big - can't start the app

After updating from v 6.30 to the actual v 7.9619.0 I can’t change the size of the WELCOME to fit my screen resolution (1280x720) to start cleaning - this is more then annoying! The whole top and bottom are hidden. Changing the resolution to maximum (1920x1080) does not help either - the WELCOME screen still blocks the app. Have they forgotten to add something like a ’OK, start scanning now’ button?

Or do I really have to downgrade to the old version?

Same for me. I’ve tried downloading it a couple of times but still the Welcome screen covers everything and like you I cannot find anywhere to get rid of it.

Tried contacting CC but no joy. Hope they monitor the Community.

I have mailed this problem to Support already. This is something new, and not yet known in the community.

As to my understanding this version 7 of CCleaner can not have been fully tested - and bugs are creeping out - Halloween is near….:cold_face: Some small changes are certainly needed.

now my CCleaner 7 is working as it should.

This doesn’t work when your display is already set to 100%. Does anyone else have a workaround?

I have found a workaround…If you auto hide your taskbar, you may be lucky enough to see the very top of the “Next” button. I was able to toggle through the screens to get to the app. Good luck!

another user found the solution - go to settings - screen settings - resolution and set it at maximum, then scale to 100%. then start CCleaner, close the mega-welcome and return to your old settings. I can’t understand why they have made this screen sooo unnecessary big and empty - nonsense in big package….

For anyone wanting another quick workaround option, I accidentally discovered a way to get rid of the splash screen a few days ago (before seeing the zoom/scale option mentioned here). While stuck on the splash screen I disconnected from the internet, closed and reopened CCleaner, and the splash screen was gone. Even after reconnecting my wi-fi, then closing and reopening CCleaner, the splash screen still never appeared again.

I could not even install, same window size issue.

And did the work rounds given above not work for you? Or have you not tried them yet?

I used the screen resolution mod, this did the trick.
