V7 will not stay uninstalled after putting 6.39 back on. Any ideas to keep V7 off my pc?
Turn off the Automatic updating in v6.39 - Options > Updates untick both boxes.
If that still doesn’t work then try the following:
Download and install Revo Uninstaller. Free version.
Let ccleaner v7 reinstall itself, or reinstall it manually, and then uninstall it using Revo doing a scan after the uninstall and deleteing everything ‘left over’ that Revo finds.
Restart (not Shutdown) your computer, reinstall CCleaner v3.69, and turn off the automatic updating.

So it’s not just me that hates this V7. This is the first version of CCleaner that runs in the background and no way to disable in the app like before. I saw that I had to now go to services.msn to disable the auto startup. Used to have an option right inside the app. So as the OP said - it’s user UNfriendly.
Also, the constant upgrade nag screen anytime I switch between pages is annoying.
I’m rolling it back to the previous version using the instructions on this post and then turning off updates. I miss the early days when it was just a cleaner and didn’t have it’s tenticles wrapped around the insides my computer like it does now.
