HI there from Italy. don't know if I'm allowed to ask for explanation but I always used ccleaner free flawlessly. today I have updated as requested from ccleaner automatic updating search and got the latest version. the installation went fine. I started it and begin to clean. when the counter was at about 50% ccleaner crashed. tried to analize prior to clean and the same happened. I could only perform the registry cleaning thing without problem.
for your information I 1 hour before cleaing I had to abort a dvd burn. could be this the problem? anyone had the same issue?
all the best and thanks for all the help you can give me.
ok, I think I found something that could be useful (or not) to the developers. first they rig: windows 7 64 bit with i7 and the latest and best thing installed.
even after a reboot ccleaner crashed but this time I wanted to check out if I could see a file or something at which point of the cleaning progress ccleaner crashed. I think I found a clue since everytime it crashes it does it when analizing/cleaning VLC media stuff.
so I uninstalled VLC and ccleaner didn't crash anymore.
After this I reinstalled VLC but Ccleaner crashes again exactly at the same 'VLC' point.
somebody knows what to do here?
I have been using both software together working like charm since today when I updated Ccleaner to the actual version.
now, since I need both of them I have unchecked VLC media from the applications tab list (to have ccleaner working) but eventually I would like to know what happened. it is clear that the new version of ccleaner of maybe the new version of VLC (the latest came out days ago) have something that makes Ccleaner to crash.
might be a good feedback for the developers to check it out............
No Nergal: VLC is not running when attempting the clean. as far as I know VLC doesn't stay in the background when I close it. It is not listed in the software running.......
