CCleaner v2.27

While you await the holiday season or the New Year, we've got a release of CCleaner chock full of new features, updates and fixes. Read on.

Security Features

CCleaner now supports secure wiping of MFT free space for NTFS drives.

The Master File Table (MFT) contains an index of the files on an NTFS drive. As the computer overwrites and deletes files, the MFT can accumulate free space which may contain remnants of index pointers to deleted files. You can now set CCleaner to wipe the MFT free space, just as you have been able to set it to wipe free drive space.

To set CCleaner to wipe MFT free space:

1. In CCleaner, click the Options button.

2. On the Options pane, click Settings.

3. In Settings, make sure that Wipe MFT Free Space is selected.

Was waiting for that. ;)

Thanks. :)

As usual, thanks so much Mr G !

Downloading! Thanks MrG! Happy Xmas! :D

UPDATE: Problem in Spanish translation according to changelog: "Saltar Lista de Tareas" (doesn't make sense) --> "Mostrar Opciones en Jump List" (Jump List aren't translatable... neither Microsoft do it in their websites: http://windows.microsoft.com/es-XL/windows...rams-and-items)

UPDATE 2: Not showing System Restore Points in Windows 7 in spanish!

As I had filed a bug for the previous version hanging while attempting to clean Firefox 3.6beta sqlite files, it behooves me to report that this new release works properly in that regard.

Thanks for fixing this, and please accept a free Bah! Humbug!...

There'll hopefully be some happy SeaMonkey 2 users.
