On Windows 11, this version 7.0.1010.0 is not cleaning Edge or Firefox. I am also running ESET and Malwarebytes. In past on Windows 10, earlier version of CCleaner ESET was the problem. Send instructions of what to allow by putting browser URL into ESET.
CCleaner7 failing to completely clean in Custom Clean
Here some before and after attempts to clean, am using ESET and MalWare Bytes also, with Firefox windows 11.
It just means that it is unable to clean one or a few files in the category because they are still open or in use.
It is still cleaning most of the files.
Note that CCleaner has always ‘skipped’ open files like that, but in older versions they stopped telling you when it skipped System Files because of exactly this question being asked all the time - the developer of CCleaner7 appear to have forgotten about that though. (or they don’t care because it not them who are not getting the question asked many times).
It will get the ones it couldn’t clean next time, (if they are closed by then), but may then find others that have been opened since.
Files are being opened and closed all the time in the background.
For browsers make sure that the browser (or Browser extensions) is not still running in the background.
