I've used CCleaner for several years, totally trouble free. My last version of CCleaner was v 5.30.0.6065 which ran prefectly. I always up-date to any new version as it comes along & i have 2 problems with this :-
1) I download & save the app. to my pc & then run & install it. When i select ''run/install'' ,my pc freezes - neither the mouse or keyboard respond.
As soon as the Install actually starts, then mouse & keyboard are ok again & the install takes place.
2) I installed v 5.32.0.6129 when it came out & most times it runs,& shuts down after 'cleaning'. However,on many occasions,it doesn't shut down as i've set it to do, & continues to run as long as i let it. I then have to use 'Task Manager' to force it to shut down - why is this happening ?.
I'm using CCleaner Free version which i've always used. I didn't know anything about ''active monitoring'' in CCleaner - now i do !. I just looked at CCleaner / tools /startup & there was 'CCleaner Monitoring' & it's enabled. What is the significance of CCleaner monitoring - should it be abled or disabled ??.
This problem isn't serious, but it's something that's only happened with this latest version of 'CCleaner Free'. I uninstalled it,went back to my older version = no problems at all.
It's simply odd & something that i'm sure shouldn't happen.
Hi hazelnut - I'll try disabling the 'Active Monitoring' to see if it helps. This is a pretty infrequent problem, but it shouldn't really happen at all. It never did with the previous versions of CCleaner that i've used,
