Hello Piriform Community!
First off, I use most of the Piriform software because of how good and useful it is, so thanks! ![:)]()
The other day I scanned my computer for cleaning.. For some reason, which is abnormal to how it used to be, the analysis took forever to complete, I noticed it had gotten particularly stuck around the Internet Explorer Temporary Files
Appdata\local\microsoft\windows\temporary internet files\Content.IE5\
I followed this directory up until temporary internet files which is where its cut off (have hidden files on show).
Can anyone make sense of this? I'm wondering if it has something to do with AVG Free 2012 maybe?..
I hope someone knows the answer, and by the way, I use the Opera Browser.
Thanks
Hi trickyjim ![:)]()
What operating are you using?
Which build of ccleaner are you using? (give the number please)
Are you saying the scan does not complete?
Does the same 'freeze' happen if you run ccleaner in safe mode?
Do you use a winapp2.ini file ?
All your av/malware apps up to date and scans coming up clean?
Thanks for the reply hazelnut ![:)]()
-Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit
-CCleaner V3.12.1572
-Nope, the scan and clean does complete, it just takes a very long time (5 mins plus) to clean the Content IE.5 folder which contains many tmp files for some reason..?
-I havent tried safe mode, but I did have issues with it just over one week ago.
-I've never heard of that so I'm guessing not.
-All of my Antiviruses are up to date (AVG free 2012 and Malware Bytes Free)
Currently today there has been no issue but this has been happening for the last week or so.
-Thanks ![]()
What sort of issue did you have with safe mode?
Are you the only user?
Have you tried deleting the files manually?
