CCLeaner stops all Microsoft 365, Adobe, Nitro programs

Using latest version of CCLeaner.
Using Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, Nitro+ (pdf), on a Vaio laptop running Windows 10 (latest version).

Laptop began to run slow. Ran CCleaner and after cleaning, none of the microsoft apps or programs will work from the taskbar or the start menu. Also if you click on an existing file (doc, docx, xls, ppm files) none of them will open. If you find the operational (exe) file for word or excel or outlook, these can be forced to run if you run them as Admin. Same is the case for Acrobat and Nitro. Reinstalling Office 365 or Adobe or Nitro does not fix the problem.

Other files/apps (such as Turbotax, Brave, Opera, Chrome, Media Monkey) are unaffected and operate just fine from the taskbar, or the start menu or when you click on existing file.

I recall i had this issue a year ago and had to completely reinstall windows 10 operating system to get the microsoft programs to operate correctly. I cannot do that here as some operational files cannot be reinstalled due to their age. SO I need a solution that allows all the “locked up” operating files to start working again from either the task bar, the start menu or when you click on a existing doc/xls/ppm/ppt/pdf file.

PLEASE HELP.

Thank you

can you expand on this? what sections of CCleaner did you use? Healthcheck, Custom Clean, Registry, Performance Optimizer.

What you describe sounds like the latter two, registry and Performance optimizer.

Also; are you using Windows Defender or do you have a 3rd party Antivirus/Security app installed?

Had this problem with All Microsoft Apps, Excel Word, One Drive. Changing Excel and Word Short cuts to have Admin access they worked but I still had to use Microsoft 365 App to get to files not on my One Drive. this happened after I browsed thru the new Cloud Drive Cleaner section. I uninstalled CCleaner and everything was back to working as expected. I then re-installed CCleaner but stayed away from the new Cloud Cleaner Option and have not had any more problems.
