CCleaner skipping IE files?

Recently reinstalled my OS as well as CCleaner, now when I run it, it says....

IE Temp Int files............Skipped

IE History......................Skipped

IE....Cookies.....................Skipped.

Ive used CCleaner for years and never seen this until now. Could I be doing something wrong or have the wrong thing checked/unchecked in settings to make this happen?

What operating system and build of Ccleaner are you using?

Windows 7-64

Version 5.24.5841 64bit

what Service Pack for Win7?

did you have IE still running when you ran CC? (check Task Manager)

what AV software do you use?

was Skype or Windows Live Mail running?

SP1

No

Microsoft Security Essentials.

No

those 'skipped' messages indicate that CC thinks IE, or an IE related task, is still running.

can you start the PC in Safe Mode and run CC and see if it runs without problem.

then reboot normally and run CC again and see if the skipped messages re-appear.

if that pans out as planned, your PC has something running that CC wants closed before IE can be cleaned.

it may not mean IE is open but some shared common MS process which needs to be identified.

first potential culprit would be MSE.

Thank you, will try this and report back if I have any problems. Thanks again.
