Ccleaner service keeps stopping

Latest version of Cc (7.41172.0). Scan fails at 81% with a graphic that tells me CC Service is not running, and a link to restart, but it never restarts! I have managed to restart the service manually but running Cc again always stops it. Very frustrating to say the least. I tried restating laptop. I alo tried re-installing Cc but all to no avail.

Hi @PatrickT,
Do you experience this issue during a Health Check or Custom Clean scan?
Please follow these steps to help us investigate the issue:

  1. Download and install the CCleaner Support Tool using the link below:
    https://download.ccleaner.com/CCleanerSupportTool.exe
  2. Replicate the issue on your end.
  3. Run the tool to generate the logs.
  4. At the end of the process, you’ll receive a 5-digit File ID.
  5. Please share that File ID with me so I can review the logs and investigate further.

If you have any issues, please let me know.

Thanks for taking this up, Laurence, and for the very clear instructions. The problem occurs with both Health Check and Custom Clean but the driver updater worked fine. Support file ID is FQR7C. Patrick

@PatrickT after review of the log files, we can see the CCleaner 7 service is crashing due to an issue with Firefox.
A fix for this will be in the v7.5 update to CCleaner that we will be releasing soon.
Until then, please use Custom Clean and disable cleaning in Firefox, and let me know if this resolves your issue.

Disabling FF seemed to work. Glad you’ve worked out the issue. Attached is a screen grab taken earlier.

Thanks for confirming that Firefox cleaning was the issue.
We advise you to use Custom Clean with Firefox disabled until the v7.5 update is released.
If after you update to v7.5 you continue to experence this issue please message me back.

Is 7.5 scheduled for an earlier release? 7.4 came at the end (literally) of the month, are people going to have to live with no firefox cleaning til feb 29 (yes I know it’s not a leap year i was being slightly funny)

Hi @Nergal,
I can’t give specific dates for the v7.5 release of CCleaner, however, it is scheduled to be slightly earlier than the January release. This could also slip, as it is in ongoing development.
