CCleaner Reg Cleaner

I uninstalled Gimp some time ago but Secunia keeps selecting it for updates. I have discovered that there are still bits of it remaining in the registry. I have always been reluctant to use a registry ceaner but I was wondering if CCleaner reg cleaner would help me get rid of these remnants. Any advice would be welcome.

It could help to a point such as removing all of the unregistered filetypes, etc. Since it's still showing up you may have something left over in the registry under HKCU\Software or HKLM\Software, and possibly also application data depending upon how Secunia is detecting it.

Secunia ONLY detects files so double click the entry in psi and it should tell you where the detected version is. Are you using Secunia PSI 1 2 or 3? (I have all versions at hand if you need screen shots)

Det, usually the leftovers are located in the software sections of either:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

I would check both locations to see if that is where they reside.

again, you are looking in the wrong place, he says Secunia sees it Secunia only detects files
