I have uninstalled and reinstalled this version trying to get rid of the problem described above, but nothing that I do seems to work. I want CCleaner to work the way that it ALWAYS used to work: First I would open CCleaner and select "Run Cleaner", it would then run and clean the found junk and the screen would STAY OPEN, The I would Select "Registry" and select "Scan for Issues" and then select "Fix All Selected Issues". How can this problem be fixed so that CCleaner Profession remain OPEN for me to use both princesses without the first closing reported above? THIS IS A VERY ANNOYING PROBLEM THAT I DON'T LIKE AT ALL!!!!
go to Options, Advanced, and check you don't have Close program after cleaning ticked.

Thanks so much MBA!
That was exactly the problem. I unchecked that box, and now it works normally.

no sweat.
I wasn't expecting the solution to be that east, but a win is a win.
My ccleaner worked just great last night. This morning I booted up my laptop and my ccleaner would not open. I removed, reinstalled it and still nothing. If I use my Anti-virus, I can open it there and run it, but not from the shortcut icon. I get some error message that something could not be installed. I didn't take a screen shot when that happened but if I get that message again I definitely will add it to this post.
since the OP's issue is resolved I guess this thread can continue with this new issue....
@newman,
the exact error message would help.
and what do you mean, "if I use my AV, I can open it and run it" ?
I realise you are talking about CC but how are you running it from your AV?
Can you run the executable for CC directly from its Program Files folder?
Actually, newman, when you return please open a new thread as it is likely your issue has different circumstances than this thread.
