CCleaner tells me I MUST update Adobe Acrobat DC. I have clicked the "Resolve" button every day for five days, and CCleaner reports the exact same "issue" every day. Adobe updates my Acrobat, but CCleaner Pro says it MUST be "Resolved" EVERY DAY. What's going on?
It may be that the update needs an extra input that CCleaner cannot give it, eg. it may need administrator permission to update.
So CCleaner starts the update process but it doesn't finish, so CCleaner tries again next time, and next time, and .............
Try updating through Acrobat itself.
CC did ask for Administrator permission, and I gave it. It DOES finish the update every day, and the next day is says I MUST repair the security problem, again, and again, and again. THANKS for your thoughts.
It this Acrobat Reader DC?
What version does Acrobat itself say that it is installed at? (Menu>Help>About Adobe Acrobat Reader)
I do note that there were two updates issued recently on consecutive days, one each on the 14th and 15th of June.
So it should now be at 24.002.20857

You might want to try 'Repair Installation' in Reader, it's in that Menu>Help.
Yes, Acrobat DC.
I've clicked every button in the program and cannot find the current version.
I tried the "Repair" and it "Failed."
I tried the "Update" and it said I would receive Version 15.009.20077. The Update also failed, but Adobe offered me the opportunity to spend the remainder of my life researching "workarounds."
I now understand why CCleaner keeps reporting that there are "problems" with Adobe Acrobat DC.
Thanks VERY much for all your suggestions. I rarely ever use Acrobat, so I surrender.
Wow, as I understand it the first two numbers are the year - in which case "15" is a 9 year old version of Acrobat Reader, so yes the Help menu may well be different in such an old version.
This is what I currently have:

I think that I would uninstall your current Reader DC and download/install a new one.
Or as you say just use a different PDF reader there a number of other PDF readers available, even most browers can open PDFs now without needing a seperate app.
Your screenshot does show Windows 10, so if it is a 2015 version of Reader then it looks like its been there from the start of Win 10.
Just out of interest what version is your Windows 10 at? It should be at 22H2 and does look like it is from that Search button in your screenshot.

I don't have the free "Reader." I bought the full Adobe Acrobat DC program so I could send my four-volume Book to the printer in their preferred format, and it wasn't cheap as I recall. Adobe stated that my program would continuously update AUTOMATICALLY. Obviously, it has never updated. My Win10 is 22H2.
The way you say that sound like have an older 'Bought outright' version of Acrobat, as far as I am aware those will no longer get updates.
Acrobat 2020 was the last one that could be bought outright.
'DC' is supposed to be a subscription service, there was a 2024 version of Acrobat DC (Standard and Pro) released a couple of months ago.

It does look like CCleaner is misidentifying whichever variant you do have, and so may be trying to update it to something unsuitable.
We have seen similar happen in the past with others softwares that have multiple variants with the same/similar names.
The best that I can suggest is telling your Health Check to ignore it, just use the 'Skip for Now' button.
I'd also go to an Adobe help forum to see if you can find what is the latest version you should have for the variant that you have installed.
The "Pro DC" version I bought said it was "Continuously Updated Automatically." The Automatic Update button has been turned on for as long as I've owned the program.
Thanks very much for your suggestions.
Most of those "Always Updated for Life" have a rider in small print that "life" means the product lifetime not your lifetime.
Most softwares do go End-of-Life, even Windows versions do.
Not that it means much at times, I have Autocad 2000i (also horendously expensive to buy outright at the time) still running on a Windows 98se machine. Both well end of life, both still working.
Thanks for the info! My Adobe Acrobat PRO DC seems to be working OK, so I'll just muddle along with it. At my age 79, the "end of life" ain't all that far away, and there's no way I'll ever give Adobe another dime.
