CCleaner Performance Optimizer Service.Stopped Working

I ran the Reliability Monitor on my Windows 11 desktop this morning. It gave me “Stopped Working” error message for CCleanerPerformanceOptimizerService.exe, also indicating this happens every morning when I first boot the computer.

CCleaner otherwise seems to function fully.

Should I be concerned? If so, how to fix?

If you check in Task Manager is the PO service still running?

When you open the PO is it still sleeping the things that you have chosen to sleep?

I’d imagine that it probably is - if it wasn’t then it wouldn’t be there to get stopped the next boot.

It may simply be that when you boot up CCleaner is starting a new service, which stops the previous one.
If for some reason it is not stopping previous one ‘nicely’ then Win11 might see that as being an error.

I’m not seeing anything like that reported on my Win10 Reliability History, but of course Win11 will do things differently.
It may even depend on just what you have selected for PO to put to sleep?

Personally I wouldn’t be too worried about it.
I’d tend to put it down as just another of the odd things that Windows reports now and again.
Maybe caused by a bit of slack programming in CCleaner’s PO not stopping the old service in a way that Win11 likes?

Shout to other Win11 users - is anyone else seeing similar?
