CCleaner on Android 16 \ One UI 8 (Galaxy S25 Ultra) taking 30 - 90 seconds per often used app to clean cache

I am running CCleaner Pro Version: 25.17.0 (800011244) on my Galaxy S25 Ultra with the latest OS update to Android version 16 / One UI 8.0 and after the latest OS update a week ago, CCleaner is now running dirt slow. It hangs on a lot of the frequently used apps it’s cleaning (about 30 seconds to 1 minute or so and then continues) and yet processes through most seldom used apps normally.

I have tried it with Hidden Caches checked and unchecked, with no difference. I see there is also many others with this issue since the Android update, I’m sure you have a fix in the works… just voicing another user with the same issue.

Steps I have taken that did not help:

  1. Rebooted phone

  2. Cleared CCleaner Cache & data

  3. Uninstalled / reinstalled CCleaner

  4. Cleared the entire Cache partition on my phone

  5. Let CCleaner run all the way through its process (about 15 minutes), until it finished and then ran it again right away to see if it still hangs even after cleaning… YES!

I have submitted a support request, I hope you have gotten it?

At this point, I find CCleaner unusable and will have to seek an alternate until a fix is released… thank you

From the looks of it, something in samsung’s new ROM is causing issues. This bug is young yet, and we’ve not heard from the developers on it in a bit.

@Nergal My Pro plus subscription is about to renew. Do you think this will get fixed? No sense for paying for it if it won’t work. /shrug

like you I’m just a user, I’ve just been granted the power to ban spammers, so i couldn’t tell you. best place that i know to ask is the thread i linked above as it has at least been given some notice by staff.

We hope to have a version of CCleaner for Android available soon that will resolve some issue with Android 16.
After you update to CCleaner Android v25.21 check if you still experence your issues and if so message me back so we can investigate this further for you.
