CCleaner no longer detects Microsoft Office 2016

However, let’s offer a solution to those interested

  1. Open a Terminal window with administrator privileges.

  2. Change the directory to the one where CCleaner is installed (e.g. C:\Program Files\CCleaner).

  3. Run the command Ccleaner64.exe /export. Three ini files are created in the directory.

  4. Run the command notepad.exe winapp.ini. This is the content of the file in my case

  1. Save the file then rename it to winapp2.ini. Run Ccleaner and you will notice that in Custom Clean > Applications > Applications Office 2016 is now displayed.
