CCleaner no longer detects Microsoft Office 2016

I am using Microsoft Office 2021, 2024 on a few workstations. Starting with version v6.33.11465 (20 Feb 2025), Microsoft Office 2016 is no longer detected by CCleaner. I checked the version v6.32.11432 (22 Jan 2025) and it is working fine.

It is pretty strange because the registry key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Piriform\CCleaner]
“(App)Office 2016” exists and it is set to “True”.

I consider this a bug in the application.

The cleanup rule for [Office 2016] was apparently removed on purpose. The exported winapp.ini contains the following comment:

#Commenting out this rule due to missing a licence to test it

Not really comprehensible, since the cleanup rule has not caused any problems so far. And a license for Office 2016 should be very easy to find…
